Grey Ink Projects ("the Agency", "we", "us", or "our") is a digital agency based in South Africa, providing web development, deployment, management, and Shopify services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at greyinkprojects.online (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us, such as through our contact form or WhatsApp.

  • Any information you share with us via WhatsApp, email, or Instagram direct message

  • Standard technical data such as browser type, device type, and general usage patterns, to the extent provided by our hosting and font providers
  • A local browser storage flag indicating whether you have acknowledged our cookie notice (see Section 5)

We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this Site. If this changes in future, this Policy will be updated accordingly.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide requested quotes or information
  • Communicate with you about a Project, including via email or WhatsApp
  • Deliver, maintain, and improve our services
  • Comply with our legal and contractual obligations
  • Maintain records of client engagements for legitimate business purposes

4. Third-Party Services

To operate this Site and process enquiries, we rely on a small number of trusted third-party service providers, including:

  • Google Fonts — used to load web fonts for the Site's typography.
  • EmailJS — used to deliver contact form submissions to our email inboxes.
  • InstantDB — used to securely store contact form submissions so we can follow up with you.
  • FormSubmit — used as a fallback delivery method for contact form submissions if our primary method is unavailable.
  • WhatsApp and Instagram — if you choose to contact us through these platforms, your interactions are also subject to their respective privacy policies.

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are not authorised to use your information for their own marketing purposes.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

Our Site uses minimal, essential local browser storage — for example, to remember that you have dismissed our cookie notice. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. For full details, please see our Cookie Policy.

6. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share information with the third-party service providers listed above, where required by law, or where necessary to protect our legal rights.

We retain contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry, deliver services, and comply with our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You may request deletion of your information at any time, subject to Section 9 below.

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal or contractual retention requirements
  • Object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

Our Site and services are intended for businesses and individuals over the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
